Greetings and Salutations! Nothing pleases me more than to present to you “What Love Got to Do with My Health" women's brunch in honor of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Black women — more than any other women in the United States — are getting HIV. According to the CDC, most of these women, 87%, got HIV by having unprotected sex with a man. We must take steps to increase awareness and eliminate stigma and stereotypes about HIV/AIDS in order to begin to effectively address the HIV epidemic among Black Women. The first step to HIV prevention is learning the facts and accepting the reality that any woman who is sexually active is at risk. So to every woman who has ever been sexually involved in any type of relationship, engaged in condomless sex , been cheated on, or has done the cheating... even the faithful women in committed relationships with good men, we dedicate What Love Got to do With My Health" Women’s brunch to you. Through TRUE SISTERHOOD, We can support one another for making HEALTHY decisions about sex!
