In addition to striking properly, avoid these common mistakes to get the most out of your kick: 1) Make sure to pivot the base foot so the hips rotate and the shin hits flush on the target. 2) Do not drop your guard (arms) when kicking 3) Do not strike with the foot and toes. Make sure to strike with the shin and instep (as pictured).
