MSUCOM students joined alum Richard Bryce and a group of Detroit children for the Community Health and Social Services (CHASS) Center's first boot camp for kids. The group spent the day learning about nutrition and exercise and having lots of fun doing it.

More great summer outreach work by MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine students! A group of students from the Detroit Medical Center site worked with alumnus Richard Bryce to begin laying a foundation for future good health with some Detroit youngsters.

MSUCOM students, and Wayne State University dieticians were brought together by MSUCOM alum Paul Ehrmann as part of the HealthyTown-Everywhere initiative at Holiday Market in Royal Oak. Ehrmann's Family Health Care Center sponsors the program, which provides shoppers with health screenings and information about making healthy food choices and positive lifestyle changes.

MSUCOM’s first Colby Foundation Endowed Lectureship Series took place on July 22 in Conrad Hall (and via Polycom from Detroit and Macomb). It was standing room only for more than 400 students, faculty and staff members who learned about the organ donor process and heard presentations by recipients and donors' families. Following the lecture, this group of students talked with attendees about the process of registering for organ donation and took applications for bone marrow donors as part of the Be The Match program.

These 61 teens are looking into the camera and into the future this week during the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine's OsteoCHAMPS program. The week-long educational experience gives them a chance to experience life in a Michigan State University dormitory, attend classes, explore osteopathic medicine, build their leadership skills and have fun. They represent three states (Illinois, Texas and Michigan) 21 Michigan counties and two nations--the U.S. and Peru!

The MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Allies in Medicine group took part in the Motor City Pride Festival on June 11 to showcase osteopathic manipulative medicine, talk about public health and teach members of the LGBT community about osteopathic medicine.
