Description
The Freetown Police Department is a 24-hour law enforcement agency located in Freetown, Massachusetts. The Town of Freetown is located in southeastern Massachusetts and is among one of the 20 communities in Bristol County. The town has a total land area of 36.6 square miles and an additional water area of 1.7 square miles. The Town of Freetown borders two cities (Fall River and New Bedford) together with five towns (Acushnet, Berkley, Dartmouth, Lakeville, and Rochester). Two state highways travel through our community (Rte. 24 & Rte. 140). Our town also includes a substantial area of the 5,411-acre Freetown State Forest, which is located in the heart of our community and offers 50 miles of unpaved
roads and trails.

Drop Off Unwanted Medications As part of the Safer Communities Program, FREETOWN P.D. has teamed up with CVS/pharmacy and the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, to collect unwanted medications that may otherwise be diverted, abused, or contaminate water supplies. A new drug collection box has been installed in our station's lobby. Residents are encouraged to bring and dispose of their unwanted medications in this collection box at any time. Please share.
