LAKEVIEW SHOCK MAKES A DIFFERENCE FOR BROOKS PEDIATRIC PATIENTS Brooks’ emergency department patients will now receive extra comfort thanks to staff at the Lakeview Shock Incarceration Correctional Facility. As part of the Brocton facility’s “Make a Difference Day,” members of the NYSCOPBA union and the diversity management committee generously donated close to 100 plush toys and children’s blankets. According to Julie Morton, RN, ED nurse manager, ”The emergency department can be a frightening experience, especially for pediatric patients.” She added, “These soft, colorful new toys and blankets can provide cheer and extra comfort for the little ones, and will also allow our staff to offer a more personal and attentive patient experience.” Hospital donations can be made by calling Community Relations at 363-3313.
