The City is proud to announce that it has completed the installation of eight electric vehicle charging stations available for public use at the following six locations: • Furman Park • Wilderness Park • Rio San Gabriel Park • Discovery Park/Columbia Memorial Space Center • Independence Park • Rio Hondo Golf Course The project was possible due to grant funding from the South Coast Air Coast Air Quality Management District Local Government Partnership Program. This project allows the community to enjoy a range of benefits including convenient access to additional public charging stations, anticipated cost savings from electric energy compared to petroleum-based fuel and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions all while supporting regional efforts towards achieving environmental sustainability and healthy federal air quality standards. Use of the charging stations is available to the general public by signing up for an account at www.chargepoint.com

Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 29, 2019 and is anticipated to be completed November 2019. There will be intermittent lane closures. Alternate routes are suggested.
