Join us for the 23rd annual Riverfest Ingalls Harbor in Decatur, Alabama, Sept. 15th and 16th This is a charity event benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters! The 23rd annual Riverfest will be held September 15-16, 2017, at Ingalls Harbor in Decatur, Alabama. Along with the Championship barbecue competition, the festival includes food vendors, live music and children's activities. Proceeds from Riverfest will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morgan County, Inc.
This year's Riverfest promises to be a big BBQ and band bash! Stay tuned for musical updates!
Riverfest is recognized by the state of Alabama as an official State Barbecue Championship competition. The cook-off is sanctioned by, and conducted under, the rules of the Kansas City Barbeque Society, a national organization. The Grand Champion winner of Riverfest automatically qualifies for the American Royal World Championship Barbecue Cook-off in Kansas City, Missouri, and is entered into the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational drawing.
Riverfest features more than 70 professional and amateur BBQ cooking teams from across the United States. The teams will be competing in such categories as beef brisket, pork ribs (loin/spare), chicken, pork (shoulder/butt), and best sauce.
