Description
Christ the King Catholic School in Daphne, Alabama provides a Catholic elementary education for kindergarten through eighth grade students. Christ the King was established as a parish on October 24, 1937, when Bishop Thomas J. Toolen laid the cornerstone for the church building. The parish school, Christ the King Catholic School, opened in 1949 under the leadership of Father Denis Gray, pastor, with the assistance of the Sisters of Loretto. The school serves nearly 500 students in grades K-8 today.

Sixth grade students in Mrs. Bartz's World Geography class have been working on a Heritage project. Students researched their family tree, created a presentation about their countries of family heritage, and prepared a recipe from one of their countries to share at the Heritage Food Festival. #ctkcssaintsleaders

Our first grade students recently made a visit to Dr. Glass's orthodontic office to learn about "sugar bugs" and the importance of good dental hygiene, and had a little fun making plaster handprints. We had an awesome CTKCS Field Day...beautiful weather, lots of games, activities, competition, and $2000 to our Archdiocesan seminarians!! Thank you to Coach Etheridge, our teachers, and our volunteers who made our day fun for everyone!

Our CTK Golf Team completed the season earning points for their place each week during regular season play. Bo Smith earned first place and Duncan Williams earned third place and were recognized recently at the CYO awards ceremony. Great job to all of our young golfers on the CTK Golf Team! #ctkgosaints

CTKCS students in 5th - 8th grade may participate in Prep Band with Mr. Pryor, SMCHS Director of Music. Save the date and attend the St. Michael Spring Band Concert on May 16...sure to be a treat!

Eighth graders brought Ancient Rome to life with the annual "When in Rome" day, including skits and a banquet of traditional Roman food as the culminating activity for their history unit on the subject. Skits included a dining scene for the rich, a political scene, a school scene, a wedding, a soothsayer prediction, and entertainment: gladiator battles, man vs. beast and chariot races!
