Christ the King Catholic Church is located in Old Towne Daphne, AL. Our parish is a sign of Christ's presence in the Eastern Shore Community. Christ the King was established as a parish on October 24, 1937, when Bishop Thomas J. Toolen laid the cornerstone for the church building. The parish school, Christ the King Catholic School, opened in 1949 under the leadership of Father Denis Gray, pastor, with the assistance of the Sisters of Loretto. The school serves nearly 500 students in grades K-8 today.

The church office will be closed Monday, May 29 in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. Mass on Memorial Day will be celebrated at 7:00 AM followed by the Patriotic Rosary.
All priests of the diocese will be on retreat beginning Monday, May 29th, at 10:00 AM until Thursday evening, June 1st. Christ the King will have a Communion Service at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, May 30, Wednesday, May 31, and Thursday, June 1. Daily Mass will resume at 7am on Friday, June 2. If you have an emergency and need a priest during this time, please call the church office 251.626.2343.

The Ascension of Our Lord, a Holy Day of Obligation, celebrates the day that Christ, in the presence of His apostles, ascended bodily into Heaven. The Feast of the Ascension will be celebrated on Sunday, May 28 at our regular Mass times, http://www.ctkdaphne.org/mass-times.

Are you interested in learning more about the Men of St. Joseph Ministry or Outback retreats? Then come to "Between the Masses" this Sunday after the 8:30 AM Mass in the Immaculata Center (Fr. Deasy Room). The Men of St. Joseph are a group of Catholic men dedicated to facilitating spiritual leadership in family and community life. They meet together Tuesday mornings at 6 AM for prayer, discussion, and support. If you are unable to attend "Between the Masses" this Sunday, you may contact Mike Mahoney, 605.8090 for more information about this ministry.

CTK Youth Ministry EDGE invites all rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students to join the Birmingham Mission Trip scheduled June 30-July 2. The trip cost is $75.00 due by June 1 and registration is limited to 15 students. The Knights of Columbus 5th Annual Team Trivia Night and Dinner is coming up this Saturday, May 20. A donation of $25 per ticket for dinner may be arranged for advance purchase through Henry Tamburin, HTamburin@aol.com. Dinner begins at 6 PM, games begin at 7 PM and a first place team prize of $600 will be at stake as you test your trivia knowledge. If you don't want to play, then just come, eat, and enjoy fellowship. Proceeds support the KoC helping local charities.

Congratulations to Fr. Dan Good for receiving his Licentiate in Canon Law (J.C.L.). He completed five years of study and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Archbishop Rodi appointed Fr. Dan Defender of the Bond and Promoter of Justice on February 1 for the Archdiocese of Mobile.
9th Annual Christ the King Inshore Classic
