"Brain scientists sometimes suggest that free will might more accurately be understood as "free won't"... But beyond knowing that anxiety is not sinful, it can be encouraging to note that God does not require us to achieve anxiety-free status as a prerequisite for sainthood." http://www.americamagazine.org/faith/2016/12/19/anxiety-sinful?utm_content=buffer888c9&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Topic: SPRING AWAKENING RETREATS Good afternoon, everyone --- I hope you all are still enjoying your winter break. It is my hope that you don't feel afraid or anxious in what these coming weeks and months may hold, nor about how you are going to do it all and do it well; it is my hope that you at least reserve the deepest depth of your soul for the peace that is Christ alone. That's hard, yall. It's also the only thing that keeps me sane and puts things back into the perspective of truth. In case you are interested in an opportunity to unravel, nourish, and re-prioritize your faith, possibly an opportunity for some of us to simply begin tapping into a relationship with the Father, there are several things you can do. But, the one I'm sharing with you today is not accessible on an everyday basis. The Awakening retreat for college students is a highly recommended and enjoyable experience that takes place on set weekends throughout the year. There are three Awakening retreats happening in Tennessee early this Spring: Chattanooga Awakening IV (Chattanooga, TN - February 17th-19th), Blue Raider Awakening VII (Bon Aqua, TN - March 17th-19th), and Vol Awakening XV (Knoxville, TN - March 24th-26th). These Awakening retreats are usually coordinated by a particular university's Catholic center but are NOT exclusive to their own university students. These retreats, in fact, are held all throughout the country for any Catholic collegiate from any state. Also, even though these retreats are coordinated in different places and generally by different students, they are all designed identically. If you wish to participate in one of these retreats, there is a small fee to cover cost of food and a t-shirt. However, to encourage you to partake in this opportunity, TTU Catholic will cover retreater fees. If you are interested in being a staff member because you have already been a retreater, then it is highly* encouraged that you take part in one or all of these weekends for yourself (note: unfortunately, staff members must pay their own fees). Guess what... After you have been a retreater, you can staff an infinite amount of Awakening retreats in your collegiate career. If you have any questions, would like additional information, and would like to sign up for a retreat, please consult the direct links below for each of the Awakening dates discussed. Also, feel free to ask me or any of your fellow TTU Catholic friends about being a part of the Awakening retreat. We would love to talk to you. Please, sincerely, know of my prayers for you. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, Abigail Gregory
