May 8, 2017 - City crews will begin spraying for mosquitoes in Section A, which borders the north side of Live Oak Street and the west side of Park Street, tonight. Section B will be sprayed on Tuesday, Section D on Wednesday and Section C on Thursday. Spraying will begin around 7:00 p.m. Fishponds should be covered if the spraying is taking place in or near your area. Be sure to bring in pet bowls prior to spraying. Please stay indoors when the truck is in your area. The chemicals will not be sprayed if the driver sees residents outside. The City plans to continue this schedule every other week through September.

Election Day for Commerce City Council and Commerce ISD School Board is tomorrow, Saturday, May 6. All voting will take place at City Hall, 1119 Alamo, from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Early voting began this morning for the May 6, 2017 City Council and School Board Election. Voting can be done between 8:15 and 4:45 through May 2. Extended hours are from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, Thursday, April 27 and on Election Day. All voting is taking place at City Hall.

The City of Commerce and Churchill at Commerce, along with Blankettop Theater, will present “Movie in the Park” on Saturday, April 8, 2017. “Moana” will be shown on a big screen at City Park and the event is FREE to the public. The movie is scheduled to begin at dusk. Bring a cooler, blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy this FREE event. To ensure the total movie experience, popcorn will be provided. In the event of rain, the movie will be postponed until April 28. For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Office at 903-886-1150.
