The City of Coatesville will be hosting the 1st Coatesville Vintage Car Grand Prix on
September 24th, 2016

Gates open at 7:00 am with racing commencing at 9:00 am continuing thru the day until 5:00 pm.

We ask that all participants of the event dress in period clothing if possible.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Coatesville Vintage Grand Prix 9/24/16 This inaugural and invitational event hosted by the city of Coatesville will feature more than 40 vintage autos and motorcycles dating back from the early 1900’s through the 1960s. The race from 9am to 4pm will follow a 2.2 mile course along Lincoln Highway encompassing the heart of the city and its neighborhoods. http://www.coatesvillegrandprix.com These stunning and historical vehicles may be previewed along the “Pit Row” which will be comprised of two city blocks (100-300 blocks of Lincoln Highway).— Open 9AM to 4:00PM The Final Trophy ceremonies will be held at Gateway Park located at First Avenue and Lincoln Highway. A Victory Beer Garden, Woods BarBQ, Ruffini’s, Rita’s Water Ice and Mister Softee along with community information tables will all be set up in Gateway Park from 11am-4pm. Check out the Raiderz Starz plus a Silver Sound Disc Jockey who are among other special surprise guests to be announced Grand Prix Day. Admission is FREE. Photo/Story Opportunities: Friday, September 23 Grand Prix event setup, vehicles arrive. Cars will be staging at various locations such as Marriott Courtyard Coatesville, Coatesville City Hall, One City Hall Place and adjoining lots. Saturday, September 24 Cars line up: Pit row between 8AM and 9AM Opening Festivities and Dignitaries: 9:15 AM at Starting Line 3rd Avenue and Lincoln Highway Parade Lap-All vehicles: 9:30AM First Race Starts: 10:00AM Trophies are awarded: 3:30PM At Gateway Park. Event Sponsors include Trophy Sponsor Brian Hoskins Ford, West Chester AUDI, RDS Maserati, McLaren and Porsche, Pennoni, Brandywine Health Foundation, Cedarville Engineering, Victory Brewing and other distinguished businesses who are supporting motor sports on Coatesville’s Lincoln Highway: America’s First Historic Super-Highway. Proceeds from the Grand Prix will benefit the City of Coatesville’s Park and Recreation Improvement Fund. Coatesville is at a pivotal crossroads in its trajectory. The only city in Chester County, PA one of the most prosperous counties in the nation, Coatesville is located forty five miles west of Philadelphia. Over 13,000 residents divided into four neighborhoods within a picturesque valley are joining together to transform and reactivate the city into a growing, vibrant destination. Projects and partnerships now unfolding in the city, illustrate that residents, businesses and officials are actively working to create a sense of community and a public realm that is diverse and dynamic.
