Lake View Cemetery's mission is to own, operate and maintain an historic burial ground in an arboretum setting, open to all walks of life.  As a tourist destination, The Lake View Cemetery offers a variety of walking, bus, and self-guided tours. Among the tour topics are geology, architecture, horticulture, nature, animals, and history. In addition, there are picnic sites and hiking trails. Some of the well-known points of interest include:

The Garfield Monument

Open April 1 - November 19, seven days a week, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Both buildings are staffed with interpretive guides during open hours.
