Check out this 5 star Facebook review by David Weaver: I found Senseis Rob and Laura Chartier about 17 years ago, after more than a dozen years of practice in another style. They teach the traditional Okinawan karate style of their sensei – our sensei – Hanshi Seikichi Iha, 10 dan, head of our worldwide organization. Sensei Iha is in his 80s, and has a lifetime of training that has led to a mastery of Karate that is internationally renowned, yet his humble method of communicating his art is in keeping with his gentle Okinawan demeanor. Rob and Laura are very much gifted in conveying his art to their students, they mirror his humility and strive to represent the art as guardians of Sensei Iha’s reputation. This is not one of those countless dojo-of-the-month clubs, our lineage goes back directly over 100 years, to the formation of organized Shorin Ryu itself. We are blessed to have that lineage and to have a direct, regular interaction with other masters in Okinawa and from other places around the globe. Tues. Night 6 p.m. see you tonight May 2nd for a curriculum class before we leave to visit Nakayama Dojo 11 year celebration...see you all tonight in the new Troy location... Classes will run per scheduled during our trip...Monday thru Thursday 6 p.m. The Seniors of the dojo will be in attendance. 😀
