We ended Child Abuse Prevention Month with an educational (and interactive!) talk from Christiansburg Police Department Investigator Moe McClanahan and a reception complete with ham biscuits and cake! Thanks to the Christiansburg Council members, lawyers, judges, police officers, social services professionals, clerks and community members who came out last night to learn more about Internet Crimes Against Children - something we often don't consider abuse. April may be coming to a close, but remember to continue the conversation because there's #NoExcuseForAbuse

This morning, Public Works hauled off the trash collected over the weekend as part of our Diamond Hills Stream Cleanup event. 400 POUNDS of trash, to be exact! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for information on future stream cleanups and ways you can get involved - and good work to the volunteers who spent their Saturday with us!
