Welcome to the official Chino Police Department page. Chino PD is proud to serve such a great community. The Chino Police Department is comprised of more than 150 employees, both sworn and civilian, and over 50 dedicated volunteers.  We serve more than 85,000 residents within 30 square miles.  The Chino Police Department handles over 8,000 calls for service each month and provides full service operations in various divisions such as; Patrol, Traffic Enforcement, Criminal Investigations, Special Enforcement Team, School Resource Officer, Crime Analysis, Communications and Crime Prevention, amongst many others.

In October 2012, the Chino Police Department opened the doors to its new 102,000 square foot police facility which includes a shooting range, training center, gym and police museum designed to support the growing Department.

Officer Cortes and Bernath of the Chino Police Department competed in the 2018 Police and Fire Championships (Olympic style games) this last Sunday in Chula Vista, CA. They placed 2nd out of 17 teams in the Corn Hole toss. Two of our own Chino Valley Fire Department employees took the gold medal home! Congratulations to all!

The Chino Police Department was honored to participate in the annual Inland Empire Police Canine Associaiton benefit show. Officers from SWAT, K9 and our UAS (drone) Unit performed a simulated pursuit and takedown of a bank robbery suspect. A special note, congratulations to Officer Haines and K9 Apollo for taking 3rd in the Toughest Dog Competition!!!!

***CHINO PD PARTICIPATING IN LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN TOMORROW - MONDAY, JUNE 4TH*** Personnel from Chino PD and California Institution for Men (CIM) have partnered to accept the “Flame of Hope” Special Olympics torch on Monday, June 4, 2018. The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for the Special Olympics is an annual event supported by Chino PD. The torch exchange will take place at Ramona Avenue and Chino Hills Parkway at approximately 1:00 p.m. where the Chino Hills Police Department will pass it to Chino PD and CIM. Officers will then run the torch north on Ramona Avenue, east on Philadelphia Avenue, north on Monte Vista Avenue, to Phillips Boulevard, where it will be handed off to the Montclair Police Department. Spectators of all ages are welcome to show their support along the route. The LETR will make its way through various cities leading to the opening ceremonies for the Summer Games. The Special Olympics offers free year-round athletic training and competition opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, helping them become physically fit and live happier, healthier and longer lives. In addition to participating in the torch run, the Chino Police Associations and CIM have supported local fundraising efforts and have made donations to the Special Olympics. ***PRESS RELEASE*** Suspect Arrested For Child Pornography This morning at approximately 7:00 a.m., Detectives served a search warrant in the 13400 block of San Antonio Avenue related to an ongoing child pornography investigation. 24-year-old Ryan Swenson (pictured) of Chino was subsequently arrested for the possession and distribution of child pornography. Over the course of their investigation and through their ongoing proactive efforts, Detectives discovered that Swenson had downloaded and distributed thousands of images and videos containing child pornography, via the internet. Detectives utilize various forms of technology to proactively investigate internet crimes involving children to seek out and arrest those possessing and distributing pornographic files depicting children. Swenson was booked for penal codes 311.11(a) and 311.1(a) - possession and distribution of child pornography. The investigation is ongoing. In honor of Memorial Day Corporal Carrino, an Assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America, and the Troop placed flags on the grave sites of fallen Veterans at the Riverside National Cemetery yesterday. Such a great way to honor fallen heroes and teach the kids the meaning of the holiday 🇺🇸

INTERSECTION SIGNAL OUTAGE PIPELINE/SCHAEFER Due to Edison replacing a transformer, the power is out to the intersection of Pipeline Avenue and Schaefer Avenue. Please use caution when traveling through this intersection. As a reminder, California law requires drivers to treat intersections with non functioning signal lights as a four way stop sign.

Are these pups yours? A good samaritan found these dogs running in traffic on Kimball Saturday at 3:30pm and brought them to the police station. Inland Valley Humane Society has been notified and will respond to take both animals to their shelter in Pomona.
