Homeschoolers.... learning together: student-focused, activity-based sequential STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) courses. We are building a community of homeschool STEM learners starting this fall. We recognize that many of the homeschool science courses currently available are stand alone units that fall short of exploring deeper science topics and building understanding. In contrast, we will be offering a series of student-centered, activity-based STEM courses for homeschoolers. The series of courses will follow a sequential development, starting with fundamentals and building towards more advanced concepts. These courses will appeal to students interested in developing scientific explanations for natural phenomena as well as the technologically-minded.
The goal for the new STEM Education Center is to offer introductory science and engineering classes for upper elementary and middle school students this year, while keeping in mind the latter goal of offering more challenging and advanced courses in the near future.
