To support those with Disabilities in the Town of Chelmsford. Our group looks to help others in the community who are facing challenges due to their disability.  The Commission holds a meeting on the third Tuesday of each month (except July and August) at 7:00pm in Town Hall.  All meetings are open to the public.

There are 9 volunteers who are appointed by the Town Manager.  The members must be Chelmsford residents and either have a disability or care for someone with a disability.

The Commission's primary objective is to assist people with disabilities and to raise community awareness regarding the needs of people with disabilities.  The goal is to bring about the full and equal participation of people with disabilities.

In addition, the Commission strives to create a barrier free environment for people with disabilities, through reasonable accommodation and access.  The Commission also acts as an advocate for people with disabilities by providing referrals to special needs organizations and technical assistance.
In addition to our town website, please also visit http://www.newenglandada.org/ for more infomation on accessibility resources.
