The Antigua Men’s Open Qualifier at CAC! Local Centercourt Academy player Evan Wen (only 13 years old) won three tough matches to earn a spot in the main draw. Evan was interviewed following the match and here is what he said of his performance “I played good tennis this weekend but I need to get back on the court and continue to train hard so that I am ready to compete for the main draw. I felt that I used the elements very well, moved the ball well, and I was very consistent. I am excited to have the opportunity play against many high level players in the main draw. I will go into all my matches playing hard and whatever happens, just have a great learning experience.” In addition Mathew Che from Tenafly NJ, a rising “five star” junior qualified as well. The main draw of the Antigua open begins play Friday, July 7th. The level of play will be very high with the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) range from 12.55 to 14.47. The finals are scheduled for Sunday, July 9th. More details and updates to follow!
