We're proud to have Sherry Rupert from the Nevada Indian Commission giving an encore presentation of her talk about the future of Stewart Indian School at our January Frances Humphrey Lecture Series. It's Jan. 20 at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City.
Coin Press No. 1 returned to operation today with demonstrations for museum visitors. Director Myron Freedman, Curator of History Bob Nylen and docent Cliff Dunseth ran the Press and delighted visitors. Many thanks to David Morton for his great photos. The demonstrations will take place the last Friday of every month.
Tomorrow is the 76 anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Nevada State Museum has many artifacts related to the battleship USS Nevada (BB-36), including a silver service made from Nevada silver. The museum also has an amazing World War I exhibit in its South Gallery. Check it out.
We need every school and every 4th-grade classroom in the state to know about this program. Please share.
