Happy Monday to all our STS fans out there. The 2017 show season for our team officially kicked off at the Central Ohio Reining Horse Association show in Findlay, OH over the weekend. While it was a VERY wet start to our season, things were looking good inside the barn. We had 7 ponies at the show and 10 members of the team in attendance. We welcomed brand new teammates from Vicksburg, Michigan - Larry, Dawn, and Rachel Baughman! It was so awesome to have them join us for the weekend! Colleen was back in attendance at this show, after having major neck surgery in October 2016! We have missed you! Between Colleen, Dawn, and Zeta, we ate GOOD all weekend! Thanks ladies. What’s on the menu for the next one?! On to the show results….. This was a weekend to get a really good walk, jog, lope test on all the ponies in attendance. They haven’t been off the farm since at least October and this was their first chance to stretch their legs in a show pen, even if it was just warm up riding before the show started. Steve showed Shooting Sparks, a 5 year old mare, for new owner Larry Baughman in the CORHA Green Horse on Saturday and in the NRHA Novice Open Level 1 on Sunday. This mare has only been in the pen 4 times (and only one time was one-handed) between her 3 and 4 year old years. She laid down her nicest pattern to date on Saturday with a scorching 72 points and was named CHAMPION of the CORHA Green Horse class. She had a ‘baby bobble’ on Sunday but still placed 3rd in the Novice Open Level 1 to earn her (and Larry’s) very first NRHA paycheck. Kristen Barnes and her 9 year old Appaloosa gelding Finders Reward NKC rode in the CORHA Green 1 both Friday and Saturday. After working very hard with us over the winter months, they ran 2 very improved patterns in their 2017 debut. The pair were 4th on Friday, increased their score by 2 points on Saturday, and finished as reserve CHAMPIONS the second time around. Kristen is well on her way to earning her CORHA Green Buckle. Zeta Warne’s 4 year old gelding Gunners Special Playboy made his 2017 debut in the new CORHA Jackpot class on Friday night, with Steve at the helm. The pair had only been in the pen 1 other time (2-handed) last year. This year’s debut was a stellar 72 point run with some fast spins and deep stops. The pair were named CHAMPIONS of this new class. After using this past weekend as a prep run, the duo will be showing in the Open Derby at the Buckeye Reining Series show in a couple weeks. I (Sarah Gwilliams) was on the injured reserve this weekend due to a knee injury back in March, but I was still able to ride Kathleen Donnelly’s 10 year old gelding Dollywood Jac for warm up on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I’m going to rest up in the next few weeks while my knee heels and hopefully we’ll get back in the show pen at the June CORHA show. Stephanie Downing’s 3 year old gelding Tinman in Tinseltown, Colleen’s 4 year old gelding DST Statik Elektrik, and Brittany Spangler’s 10 year old gelding Archie also made the trip to the show to prepare for NRHA Futurities and Derbies plus AQHA Ranch Riding in the coming weeks. As I said before, this weekend was great for testing everyone’s walk, jog, lope after spending the winter inside. For now, we’re all praying for DRY weather and WARMER temperatures so we can all get some track time to stretch our legs. Hope everyone has dried out from the weekend and gotten some much needed sleep. Next up is the Buckeye Reining Series show in Springfield, Ohio the end of May. We had a "little" storm today. It took down 4 large trees and the fence but everyone and everything is perfectly fine. Steve moved everything to another pasture until we can get it fixed.

Steve Siadik and STS Performance Horses would also like to congratulate Elissa Roberts of Ocala Florida on her purchase of Colleen Warne Siadik's 3 year old gelding Elektrik Scooter aka "Ricky Bobby". This awesome 3 year old is by Electric Code out of our great Backcinch/Hobby Horse mare. Ricky will be ridden by Elissa in 2017 futurities under the guidance of Mark Rafacz. Thank you Elissa you got a nice one coming he is on his way!!

Steve siadik and STS performance horses would like to congratulate Larry and Dawn Baughman of Vicksburg Michigan on their purchase of Kathleen Donnelly's 5 year old mare Shooting Sparks. Full sister to the great Dollywood Jac sired by Jacs Electric Spark. Larry and Dawn came to us interested in this mare and were so impressed with our operation they decided to keep he in training with us!! Watch for this mare to continue her education piloted by Stephen Siadik and eventually be shown by their daughter Rachel Baughman . Congratulations guys and welcome to the team!!
