Terms and Conditions
1. We expect buyers and sellers to conduct themselves in a courteous and
respectful manner – to both the people and animals around them.
2. A good halter and lead rope must stay with the horse after being sold. If
this is not done a new halter and lead rope will be purchased and will be
deducted from the seller’s proceeds.
3. Buyers are responsible for examining the animals before the sale begins.
4. Barnes Horse Auctions makes no guarantees as to the possibility of herd
health risks associated with any horse. Buyers and consigners should be
aware of those risks and agree to accept them.
5. The consigner is responsible for providing feed and water until the horse
is sold.
6. Persons unknown to us may be asked to provide an irrevocable letter of
credit from their bank.
7. No items shall be removed until payment is received in full.
8. All payments and the removal of purchased animals must be completed
at the end of the sale.
9. While descriptions are believed to be accurate, Auctioneers and owners
make no guarantees, expressed or implied to the genuineness,
authenticity of, or defects in any lot and will not be held responsible for
any discrepancies or inaccuracies.
10. Barnes Horse Auctions has the right to refuse the sale of any horse that
we deem unmarketable.
11. All horses must go through the ring. NO ALLEY TRADING is allowed.

Buyers travel sometimes great distances. Therefore, all horses must be
ofered through the sale ring. This rule is enforced by Barnes Horse
Auction Company and Colorado Brand Board.
12. In the events that a buyer fails to pay for or accept a horse, the consigner
agrees to accept the same price from another buyer, or put the horse up
for sale a second time, or receive the horse back as unsold.
13. In any case where a horse is not paid for in full, including: stop payment,
return check, or the like, the consigner agrees to receive the horse back
at the Sale facilities as unsold without any liability to Barnes Horse
Auctions or Sales Staf.
