Description
Good food is everything! Tavolo opened in 2008 as a casual Italian restaurant where “everybody knows your name.” Chef-Owner Chris Douglass (of the ground-breaking South End boite, Icarus) identified the location in the new Carruth Building in Dorchester's Ashmont section as an up-and-coming area.
After a design and menu overhaul in 2010, Tavolo has further evolved into a comfortable restaurant with a cozy dining alcove, lively see-and-be-seen lounge, space for private parties, and a welcoming attitude.
Chef de cuisine Nuno Alves (formerly of Rialto) has upped the ante here with a local farm menu, meats butchered in-house, fresh breads, and fresh-made cheeses, charcuterie and pasta. Jump on the Red Line to Ashmont and (re) discover Tavolo.
