Due to increased flows on the Boise River, we are unable to manipulate the flashboards or wave shapers at the Boise Whitewater Park. We do not want to damage the equipment and the Boise Fire Department is asking people to stay clear of the river because it is running fast, deep and cold. We are closely monitoring the situation and will reassess once flows stabilize. We appreciate your patience. You can check out live video of conditions at the Whitewater Park here:
We are expecting incremental increases in flows that will bring the Boise river to approximately 6000 cfs by Friday. As a result we will not be making any adjustments to the Whitewater Park. We would recommend that anyone going near the river use extreme caution.
More water is on the way. We are expecting two releases from Lucky Peak today with an additional 1000 cfs arriving at the Park throughout the day. Wave Techs will be at the Park making adjustments after 3:00 PM. Be prepared for changing water conditions and watch out for debris floating downstream. As always, have fun but be safe.
We have seen some very erratic changes in the river levels over the last few days and we are expecting more water later today (Friday). As a result we will be keeping the flashboards at the Whitewater Park down until the flow stabilizes. We will keep you posted. Thank you for your patience.
We are expecting increasing flows starting tomorrow and the new schedule for the Boise Whitewater Park as of 2/13/17 will be: Monday: Alternating weeks starting with Green Wave 2/13/17. Tuesday: 12:00pm- Green Wave Wednesday: 12:00pm- Wave/Hole Thursday: 12:00pm- Green Wave Friday: 12:00pm- Wave/Hole Saturday: 12:00pm - Green Wave Sunday: 12:00pm- Wave/Hole Green Wave days will likely have more stand up surfing, and Wave/Hole days will likely have more kayaks/ play boats. However, all are welcome to use any feature on any day. A massive THANK YOU to all river park users, supporters, and visitors! *Schedule will always be subject to change due to irrigation demands, flow variations, River Park maintenance, and implementation of new features. *As the flows increase it is likely that flashboards will be down in the mornings, and the features will be set when the flow stabilizes in the afternoon.
