Sunday evening update: We love it when the weather turns out better than expected; freezing levels stayed below Heather Meadows today and it cooled down even more and started snowing heavily right around closing time. We've already received 6 inches of snow and could see up to 10 inches of fresh snow for Monday morning! For those of you on winter break, the snow level is forecasted to remain below 3,000 for Tuesday with a significant amount of snow. We should be getting a fair amount of snow over the next 3 days! Baker's a triple-threat right now; with the deepest snow base, all main runs open except one (and the forecasted snowfall should allow us to open that last one Monday) and the lowest lift ticket prices in the Pacific Northwest . . . now's the time to come to Mt. Baker and get the best bang for your buck!

Saturday Dec. 16 - a little fresh snow & ptarmigans on Pan Face! If you keep your eyes peeled while you're in the mountains you can see some beautiful wildlife, even in the middle of winter. When I ride the chair with my little kids we love to try to spot animal tracks in the snow and figure out what kind of animal made the tracks. Yet another fun thing to do in the mountains!
