FOUR SCOTS EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS Four Lyon College women’s basketball players earned All-AMC honors Monday night at the American Midwest Conference Tournament championship. Kiara Moore was named to the All-AMC First Team, & the AMC Newcomer of the Year. Madison Riley earned All-AMC Second Team honors, while Liz Henderson & Ali Tucker were named All-Conference honorable mentions. Elliot Taylor was named the Scots’ Conference Champions of Character recipient. So far this season, Taylor is averaging 7.9 points and a team leading 5.1 rebounds per game. She also has a team high 21 blocked shots. Freed-Hardeman’s Taleeah Cross garnered AMC Player of the Year honors, while Lions’ head coach Dale Neal was named Conference Coach of the Year. FHU’s Kim Mallory was named AMC Defensive Player of the Year, while Lindenwood-Belleville’s Brianna Mueller was named conference Freshman of the Year. All-Academic AMC honors for Lyon included Sarah Elkins, Samantha French, Kaci Hall, Henderson, Tressa Linson, Gracen Ratliff, Riley, Kelsey Smith, Allison Tackett, Taylor and Tucker.

2017 RIVERFEST LINEUP RELEASED Riverfest, Arkansas’ premier music festival, announced today 14 artists that will perform during the 40th anniversary festival. Set to take place June 1-4, 2017, Riverfest brings a quality recreational, cultural celebration of the visual and performing arts for the benefit of and in partnership with the community. “We’re tremendously excited to announce this year’s lineup,” said DeAnna Korte, the festival’s executive director. “Several of these artists are also playing other prominent festivals around the nation and we’re happy to be able to bring the same talent for an affordable cost to Arkansas. We believe we have secured an eclectic group of artists that will help us celebrate this milestone year!” The following national artists will perform: Wiz Khalifa Justin Moore Cage The Elephant Billy Currington Grouplove Cold War Kids Jon Bellion Cody Jinks Moon Taxi Craig Campbell The Joy Formidable Colt Ford Dylan Scott Cody Canada & The Departed Split Lip Rayfield Seratones Tank and The Bangas …and more including numerous local and regional acts. Flowing on the River, the festival’s separately ticketed wine and craft beer event, will kick off Riverfest 2017 on Thursday, June 1. The two-day music festival will take place Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3 with all your festival favorites from great food, arts and crafts, special attractions and the best live music on the banks of the Arkansas River. The weekend will conclude on Sunday, June 4 with a 40th anniversary celebration for the community and the annual fireworks display at 9 p.m.

Chris Lane and his identical twin brother Cory both played baseball in college. Chris got sidelined with injuries, but Cory actually had a shot at the big leagues.
