So you may ask yourself, What makes Norris Horsemanship different from the rest? Well I will tell you. We believe that a good solid foundation is the key to success. We are very gentle when it comes to training your horse! The 1st week that a new trainee spends here is spent introducing him/her to the facility, ropes, flags, “scary monsters”, any and everything that could possibly scare/aggravate it. They realize that those “scary monsters” aren't going to hurt them so therefore a foundation of trust and respect has been established between the horse and I. This foundation just makes it easier for everything else they are about to learn to go smoothly. Taking time and having patience is what sets me aside from the others. I take the time to learn the horse, to learn his movements, and to evaluate which technique would be best for this INDIVIDUAL horse!! Like people each horse is unique and each horse deserves to have his own individual learning plan!! And during this time that I am learning him he is learning me as well! Picking up on what every move of my hand means and every word that is spoken means. We are a small facility and have turnout pens. This gives us the advantage of exposing the horse to every possible human interaction they might encounter during their life journey. Numerous references available.
