He entered the Benedictine monastery at St. Meinrad Archabbey in Indiana at the age of 15 and lived the life as a monk for 10 years. Mary “Teresa” Cecil, 96, of Bardstown, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Windsor Gardens Continuing Care Community. She was born in Bardstown Oct. 7, 1920. She was a pioneering career woman and the first female licensed pilot in Nelson County. She was a member of The Ninety-Nines, an international organization of women pilots.
