DEBRIS POSITIONING: We've had the question, "Can I put my debris in the alleyway?" Unfortunately, the answer is no. You must put it out along the public right-of-way next to the street. Not all of our alleyways will hold the large heavy debris collection trucks. If you require help getting your debris cleaned up and moved out along the public right-of-way, please call Helping Hands at 361-717-1150 or Team Rubicon at 800-451-1954 or 844-965-1386. Both organizations may be able to help. 3 WEEKS POST-HARVEY AND WELL INTO RECOVERY: 95% of electricity customers have had their electricity restored. The water department has restored water throughout the City, however, we continue to experience water line breaks which create outages. If you experience an outage, after hours, call us to report it at 758-5224. Many of our businesses are opening back up or very close to opening back up. If you can support them, please shop locally. Storm debris removal is in full swing. SORT IT AND GET IT TO THE RIGHT-OF-WAY. Many of the City street lights and stop/yield signs were damaged. Be sure to drive carefully after dark. The City curfew remains in effect from midnight to 6am. We will evaluate its need next week.
