An important message from Louis Bass, CEO of RMC Health System. The Senate version of repeal and replace healthcare bill was released today. According to our colleagues at the Alabama Hospital Association (ALAHA.org), the bill will be detrimental to Alabama’s hospitals and health care delivery system. Our elected state Senators need to hear from you before next week with a clear message to VOTE NO. A “NO” vote will protect access to care for every Alabamian, our health care delivery system, health care jobs, and our state’s economy. Next week will be an important vote - please contact Senators Shelby and Strange today - via email, phone mail or via social media. Your help with protecting health care access in our community is VITAL! For more information on how to contact your Senators - visit our website for a press release at: http://rmccares.org/2017/06/23/grassroots-call-action-al-senators-strange-shelby-need-hear-us-now/

Today is not just any day at RMC Anniston. Today is Audrey Putnam Day! Affectionately known as “Put,” Audrey celebrated 60 years of service at RMC Anniston on June 1. Such a milestone and loyalty are rare and amazing. So today, RMC has proclaimed it to be Audrey Putnam Day. “This place is great!” shares Audrey. “I really like my job, and the people have always been so nice. There’ve been good days and hard days, but we always come back. It’s a great place to work!” “We are proud and privileged that Audrey chose to join the RMC family in 1957,” said Louis Bass, RMC CEO. “Her journey reflects the dedication of so many professionals who work across the RMC system of care. Her tenure of service, however, is uncommon and extraordinary. We are blessed that today we celebrate her continued service … not her retirement!” As the youngest of six, Audrey now carries on her family traditions on her own, having survived all of her siblings. She was born and raised in Anniston and graduated from Anniston High School in 1958. While still in high school, at 17 years old, she began working at RMC Anniston as a scrub tech. Six decades later, she is still helping new parents welcome their new babies at the RMC Women’s and Children’s Pavilion. She loves to fish and has four cats, which she says is “too many!”
