On Sunday October 1st enjoy the start of the fall season at the First Sunday Arts Festival in Downtown Annapolis, Maryland. For October the festival will be teaming up with the The Big Read Anne Arundel County to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The Big Read is promoting events around a collection of books including The Sun, Stone, and Shadows - 20 Mexican Short Stories. Kids will be able to create free Mexican crafts in Whitmore Park during the festival with the Chesapeake Children's Museum. Enjoy the festive street shopping atmosphere as you stroll and shop over 130 local and regional artists and crafters selling handcrafted items along West and Calvert Streets. You will find scarves, wood turnings, jewelry, clothes, pottery, paintings, photography, stained glass, furniture, books, sculptures, home decor and more. . The day is packed with entertainment on Calvert and West Streets starting at 11am. (Schedule will be added shortly) The First Sunday Arts Festival is always a free admission arts festival and offers hundreds of free parking spaces at the Calvert Parking Garage at 19 St Johns Street. Additional low cost parking is available next to the festival on Calvert Street at the Whitmore Parking Garage and Gott's Court Garage Visit www.firstsundayarts.com to get updates, become a artist vendor and to get updates on the festival. The grand Ffnale of the traditional First Sunday Arts Festivals is Sunday November 5th with the First Sunday Arts Festival - Holiday Edition. Then on December 3rd Inner West Street Association brings you another must attend event... The Annapolis Chocolate Binge Festival.
