It's time to take the bull by the horns. If you or any of your colleagues experience any of the following: 1. Scheduling of minutes without regard to patient need. 2. Shifting minutes between disciplines or between therapists to attain a RUGs level. 3. Pressure to keep patients on treatment once you've determined they should be discharged. 4. Inflating treatment time on the day of the eval to increase billable time and diminish eval time. 5. Altering minutes between COT dates 6. Scheduling high amounts of minutes on COT to prevent COT's 7. Pressure to get minutes despite patient inappropriateness, i.e. hospice level, active illness, etc. Then I want you to PM me, text me, snail mail or email me with the following information: 1. Date and time this occurred 2. Name and title of person (s) asking for this to happen 3. Name and corporate location of the company 4. Exact nature of the request (please use patient initials ONLY if you must use any patient identifier information.) I will then be in direct contact with the company's corporate compliance department, the individual making the request, and anyone else whom I feel needs to be involved in preventing this from happening again. YOUR NAME WILL NOT BE DIVULGED!! Corporate compliance complaints are anonymous. My contact information: jmahoney@areterehabilitation.com (978) 491-8084 110 Haverhill Road Suite 101 Amesbury, MA 01913

Are you clocking out between patients to keep your productivity up? Are you working off the clock to write notes or do things that will adversely affect productivity? If you are, you are not alone. However, I ask you this....is your mechanic taking himself/herself off the clock between cars? Is the surgeon taken himself/herself off the clock between surgeries? Is the NP taking himself/herself off the clock between patients. NO, THEY ARE NOT!! So, why are we?
