facebook.comThe Y9&10 German trip have arrived in the UK! We're just setting off from Folkestone and will arrive back in Witney at approx. 10:30pm. Before leaving this morning Sam presented Mr & Mrs Voss (the hotel owners) with a "Thank You" gift on behalf of the group. We've had a smooth yet lively coach journey through 4 countries - Germany, Netherlands, Belgium (with a stop off at a lovely little chocolate factory for last minute souvenirs) and France. Max, Alfie and Matt also presented our amazing coach drivers, John and Pete, with a gift. All in all we've had a fantastic week and the students have exceeded our expectations in terms of their group spirit, conduct and enthusiasm for the German language! We're tired but extremely happy 😁🇩🇪🙌🏼

Year 8 students have been outstanding this week in France. They have practised their French at every opportunity and it has been a pleasure for us teachers to see them persevere. We have just finished off our souvenir shopping and are on the coach ready to head to Calais!
Year 7 students on their enrichment day took part in a range of team building activities including a whole year group quiz and a Binbag Prom night! All students took part with enthusiasm and excitement.
Another brilliant day in Germany, today spent at Phantasialand! Spirits were high as we set off in glorious sunshine and everyone was super excited about riding "Taron - the fastest, multi launch roller coaster in the world". After lunch, the clouds came over and we heard a distant rumble; yes, a thunderstorm arrived and closed most of the rides for the afternoon. However, it didn't ruin our day...we made our own fun by visiting some of the shows and 4D cinema experiences the park had to offer, before taking one last round on the carousel as a whole group! We've had an amazing time and will be sad to come home tomorrow 🎡🎠🎢🇩🇪
Also, here is a video of one of the rides at Bagatelle! It was a favourite of most of the students and a few of the staff as well, see if you can spot any of us!
The Year 8s have had an amazing day at Bagatelle, lots of smiles, rides and slushies. Here are just a few photos to show you what we got up to!
After our busy morning exploring Boppard, this afternoon we made our way up into the mountains via the Sesselbahn (Chairlift). Once at the top we experienced stunning panoramic views of Boppard and the surrounding areas. We also got to catch a glimpse of people paragliding from the side of the mountain - very impressive! Some students then chose to paint the scenery whilst cooling down with a cold drink. We made our way back to the hotel for a 3 course dinner (Bratwurst!) before heading out to play crazy golf and have an evening ice cream. We have been incredibly impressed by all of the students who have conducted themselves impeccably throughout the day and used every opportunity to practise their German language skills! Tomorrow - PHANTASIALAND 🇩🇪🙌🏼🎢🎡🎠
The Year 8s have enjoyed a lovely morning in Le Touquet, practising their French to find some objects around town. They were then able to explore themselves and came back with some lovely souvenirs. We spent the afternoon in an aquarium...lots of sharks but successfully returned with all limbs intact!!! Currently enjoying the setting sun on the beach playing rounders.
Students and staff have spent a beautifully sunny morning in Boppard, practising the German language by completing a tricky town treasure hunt. Students often had to ask locals for their help in finding answers to the questions and they did wonderfully well; one shop owner commented on how impressed they were! After that, students wandered off in groups to purchase souvenirs and explore the town further. A lovely morning had by all. In other news, we have a new trip Mascot - Fritz the Pug - keep a lookout for him in future photos!
After 14 hours of travelling by coach & Euro tunnel to Boppard in Germany, the students have made the most of their first evening in the picturesque town. Feeling full from the delicious 3 course dinner, everyone made the short walk down to the river to complete a quick paced quiz in their registration teams. We took our first group photo of the trip and students are tucked up in bed ready for a good nights rest! Look out for our fun filled updates tomorrow 🇩🇪
The French trip are safely at the Hostel and about to sit down to dinner! Off to the beach later as well.
