Don't forget our leaving bash this Friday, everyone invited. Music from some of our very good friends (if you've played your music here for us before and aren't already down to play, just come along and give us a few tunes, the more the merrier) Remember, we don't leave until early next week, so we will still be here the rest of the weekend. May well be selling off some memorabilia on Sunday too, soo watch out for that.

Well, first, thank you for all the wonderful replies to our announcement that we are leaving. It is really humbling to have such goodwill aimed our way. Secondly, due to popular demand, begging and threats, we have arranged a leaving party of sorts for next Friday, the 25th November and everyone is welcome. We have asked a few of our very good friends from over the years to play for us, so come and get one last taste of FREE musical entertainment from us at the Anchor, as so many of you have enjoyed in the past. Still working on the line-up (it's obviously a bit short notice) but we have our own Matt Dowson together with Harry Gough, we have the amazing Benjy Curzon-Jones, and we are working on twisting a couple more arms to add to this. If you have played here before and want to have a little jam, just give us a call. The more the merrier. To summarise.....Leaving Party......Everyone Invited.....Friday 25th November....Great Music. Come and join us to say farewell in style.

To our customers and friends, After nine and a half interesting years, my family and I Are planning to leave The Hope & Anchor at the end of November. I hope we have contributed to this town during that time; we have done our best to support the community in so many ways. Now, though, it is time to move on to pastures new. I am currently the longest serving landlord in town by quite some distance, but everything comes to an end. I would like to thank everyone who has given us their custom since 2007, who has supported us and entertained us. I hope you will continue to visit us between now and the 30th November, and I'm sure we will see many of you once we are permanently on the other side of the bar in the future. It's nearly time!!!!! This weekend marks our tenth annual BEER FESTIVAL. A great selection of cask ales, most from within 30 miles of home. Starts this Friday at 12 o clock. A few special treats for the dark ale fans this year too. And of course, Gig On The Roof on Sunday!

SUMMER'S HERE! Come and make the most of it with your mates in our beer garden with this weekend's great sharing deals. Bottles of Prosecco, pitchers of WooWoo cocktails and four pint jugs of Carling all day Friday and Saturday.

One day to go to one of the biggest music events on the calender, our awesome Carnival Showcase. Fingers crossed for great weather, but if not we simply go indoors and do it anyway!
