Y2 visited Safety Works in Newcastle to learn all about staying safe in the summer. We listened to adults from the fire service, RNLI, police and St John's Ambulance who told us how to avoid dangers outside but what to do if something happened to us. We know where it is safe to play and what to do if a stranger approaches us. We also learned all about water safety at the coast; ask us what the different coloured flags mean at the beach!

A big thank you to everyone that attended and participated in the recent fashion show. It was a fantastic evening; the models were amazing and we also raised £90 for the school allotment.

Wow what a brilliant day Reception had at Hall Hill Farm! We bottle fed lambs, held baby chicks, learnt all about animal babies and even took a tractor ride to see the sheep, llamas and horses!

Reception's trip to Nando's this morning was fantastic! The children washed their hands and put on their chef's hats before choosing what they wanted on top of their chicken burgers... They were encouraged to try something new and were offered lettuce, tomatoes, sweetcorn and some children even tried sweet potato wedges as a healthy alternative to chips! Well done for great behaviour Class 2!
Reception are very excited for our trip to Hall Hill Farm this Friday. Here are just a few reminders about the day: - The coach will be leaving at 9.15am so please ensure children arrive at school on time at 8.55am. - All children will be provided with a school packed lunch. Children are welcome to bring their own packed lunch if they would prefer to do this. - Children should bring their own drink along as they are not provided with a school packed lunch. Please no cans, fizzy drinks or energy drinks. - The children do NOT need to wear school uniform. Instead they should dress appropriately for the farm and weather. Appropriate, sensible footwear should be worn, such as old trainers or wellies! - It is forecast to be sunny and warm. Please ensure your child brings a hat along with them which has their name on. Children should also apply sun cream BEFORE coming to school and also bring some along with them on the trip. This should also have their name on. The children will have a fun packed, busy day at the farm and take part in lots of activities to support their learning about spring time such as bottle feeding lambs and holding and handling baby chicks and rabbits. We will also get to go on a tractor ride and spend time in the play areas. It will be a very exciting day!
Fashion show this Thursday (3:30-4:30pm), come and watch some of our children and staff strut their stuff in Asda's latest range. Tickets £2 and are available from school office or pay on the door.

Some of our year 2 children had a 'fishy' experience at Asda this week. They are then going to use this visit to help stimulate their writing.

Some of our year 5/6 children attended a tag rugby event at Temple Park this morning. The teamwork and effort put in by them all was amazing and we were also happy to achieve 2nd and 3rd place. 🏉⭐️🏉⭐️🏉⭐️🏉

Reception had a fantastic day raising money for Red Nose Day and made sure that Miss Simpson had a great last day before she goes on maternity leave. All of the children dressed up funny for money and pulled some brilliant funny faces for our photos!
