Fatimah Elizabeth Cates Academy
Description
A GREAT weekend Academy, where learning is fun, creative and engaging!!
We pride ourselves in making the learning of Qa'idah, Qur'an and Islamic studies fun and engaging. We believe it is crucial for educators and parents to nurture a Muslim child's educational journey with the utmost delicacy and care so in return a child is enchanted and fascinated by the beauty of Islam.
We are an academy, which specialises in facilitating the cultural, experiential, conscientious, critical and creative growth of children - through to their later teens - by means of a holistic pedagogy infused with a synthesising of traditional and contemporary ideas in order for them to have a well rounded Islamic worldview.
We base our foundation on ensuring a child loves their journey in Islamic education and focus our pedagogy around four notions:
(1) Tarbiyyah (2) Ta'lim (3) Ta'dib & (4) Tajwid

We had a fantastic family ride today with Masjid Abu Bakr and Masjid-E-Umer! More than forty of us cycled from Leyton Jubilee Park to the Olympic Park in Stratford, enjoyed a mini tour around the park and then a well deserved rest at the Timber Lodge cafe! Well done everyone mashaAllah! More photos are here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/fatimahelizabethcates/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2384082235207487

Quote from "British Muslims: New Directions in Islamic Thought, Creativity and Activism" by Philip Lewis about Fatima Elizabeth Phrontistery (madrasah) ..." Hamid named it ‘Fatima Elizabeth’ after one of the earliest English Muslim women. This signals his aspiration to embody the best of English and Islamic cultures"... "... _It is unapologetically non-sectarian and seeks to allow plenty of space for curiosity and questioning_ ..." Start reading this book for free: http://amzn.eu/gGNlE7z
