CCA head coach Tharindu Perera had a busy morning preparing these talented young cricketers (Alex Cree, Archie Haddon, Josh Simmons & Dan Nicholls) for their upcoming representatives games. “I am looking to develops holistic and reflective players. I would like them to analyse and reflect on where they are technically, tactically, mentally and physically. A player’s review matters and rather than me giving all the answers, I allow players to find them” Tharindu One to One slots available for juniors and seniors during the week and weekends. For the last 4 months, I have been delighted to deliver pre-season training to players from York University Men’s & Women’s teams. Once I had established their cricketing capabilities, and got to know them as individuals, the sessions progressed to tackling technical and physical aspects of the game. Since the New Year, the players have benefited from focusing on their tactical and mental approach to game situations. It has been a great pleasure to work with such enthusiastic players, and I wish them all the very best for a successful season.

York Cricket Club players - Dan Woods (1st XI Captain) and Tom Spearman have been working hard the past few weeks, undertaking simple drills to work on technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects of spin bowling. Varying pace is another way to challenge the batter. As part of the drill, I decided to call the colour as late as possible - to keep the same momentum in their approach. I would recommend trying this drill with experienced junior spin bowlers or senior players. Be Creative..!! Constraints led coaching ✔ SMART goals ✔ Technical↔️Physical ✔ Tactical↔️Mental✔ FUN✔✔

We would like to say big thanks to The Cricket Asylum Foundation and Cricket Yorkshire for the donations towards cricket players and schools in rural areas of Sri Lanka. "There are thousands of talented young cricketers in most parts of Sri Lanka struggling to play the game they love with financial difficulties. I've come across many young cricketers that have had to give up playing because they cannot afford to buy cricket equipment or simply cover their expenses. Hopefully we can continue to provide them with the chance to play and prosper" Tharindu #everylittlehelp
