Our Mixed Adult classes are suitable for all abilities and experiences. If you have never trained before but are interested in starting a Martial Art then you will be made most welcome at Fight Fortress, likewise if you have years of experience in Martial Arts, you are welcome to join us if you wish to try something new.
Our Kickboxing (light contact) covers hand and foot drills (striking) defences (blocking and evasion) and P.M.A. (Positive mental Attitude) Development. All classes include basic technique tuition, followed by padwork and sparring (controlled).
If it is realistic Self Defence you want then you really shouldn't look any further than our Krav Maga classes. We cover Krav Fitness (where you work at your own pace under expert tuition) followed by Self-Protection Training for a violent encounter. This could be against unarmed or armed assailants, usually an Edged Weapon or Firearm. These methods draw from the very best of Krav Maga and Practical Karate.
Care is taken that the student understands each technique and is able to perform them correctly before moving on, but quite simply Krav Maga is not a system that is going to teach you to ‘fight’ i.e. take a long and drawn out process to defeat your attacker. It relies on short bursts of energy, striking hard and fast into an attacker’s vulnerable area. The emphasis is on making sure you walk away from an attack safe and well.
