Description
Crompton guitars, established by luthier Nigel Jones was started in order to offer a comprehensive service to the musicians of the South West. If you are looking for a set up, or if you are looking for a structural repair it is always better to bring the instrument to someone who understands their construction and someone who will give each job the same attention to detail.
Although we always have some instruments under construction, we treat set ups and repairs with equal importance and divide time equally amongst them. Some jobs inevitably take longer than others and some are long term projects but we always aim to stick to agreed timetables. We can usually turn setups and minor repairs around within the week but this can vary depending on our workload.

Finally got all of the awful grey paint off the 60's Gibson ready for spraying. Next job is to replace the binding and refret.

I have been asked by a client to restore this 1960s Gibson SG to its former glory. He gave it to a so called expert some years ago and got it back in this state! I'll post some pictures of its journey. It will take a while as I will be doing it alongside my usual repairs and setups.
