LIFESAVERS NEEDED - please share Neil needs your help! He’s 20, a previous student at Esher College and his Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia has just relapsed. And now he’s learnt that he needs a stem cell donor to save his life! Neil desperately needs a transplant. YOU COULD BE A LIFESAVING MATCH. All you have to do is sign up to the Anthony Nolan register by filling out a form and spitting in a tube – it’s that easy and only takes 10 minutes! You only go on to donate if you are found to be a tissue match to someone like Neil that needs your help. The chances of finding a 100% match is very low (about 1 in 50,000) so the more people that we have registered, the better. You could be the person that someone like Neil needs! 9 out of 10 people donate their stem cells in a quick and easy process similar to giving blood, called peripheral blood stem cell collection. 1 in 10 donors will have their stem cells collected via the bone marrow itself, while under general anaesthetic. #DonatingIsntScary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_RwDkcEDyE We will be in the cafeteria of ESHER COLLEGE FROM 6-8PM ON TUESDAY 7th JUNE. If you are 16-30 years old and healthy, please come and sign up to the register and you could save the life of someone just like Neil! For Neil, and the majority of people who need stem cell transplants, it’s a total stranger who provides them hope. Someone who thinks that potentially saving a life is worth ten minutes of their time to fill in a form and spit in a tube. That could be you. Lets find a #Match4Neil

Students, and their families and friends, were invited to attend the presentation ceremony, which took place in the College Theatre following a drinks reception. Media and Film, Photography and Music students received awards including: Best Film, Best Music Video and Best Naturally Lit Portrait. Becky Voller, Head of Media, said "Once again the standard of work was exceptionally high and it was a great opportunity to showcase the diverse skillsets of our students. As the UK’s Creative Industries are now worth £84.1 billion per year to the UK economy, it is important to celebrate these skills and continue to nurture creative potential."
