County Antrim Indoor Bowling Club is pleased to announce the running of our licensed Short Mat Tournament, the County Antrim Open Triples. The competition will be a one day Round Robin tournament held at the Jim Baker Stadium on Saturday 31st March 2018. The competition will see a generous £1000 prize fund thanks to our kind sponsors NFU Mutual, Magherafelt and Fleming & Cuthbert Funeral Directors. Entry limited to 48 triples to be split into 12 groups of 4. Top two in each group will qualify for the main competition with third and fourth entering the plate competition. Tournament will be played to a completion on the day. Cost £24 per triple. A brilliant weekend comes to an end. Congratulations to England on retaining their title after a nip and tuck affair over the closing stages against Scotland – with Wales waiting to pounce on any slip ups after defeating Ireland. As the day draws to a close we look back on a thrilling days action. England remain on course to retain their title with two wins from two. Ireland defeated Scotland for the first time in 12 years, before they succumbed to a late England charge. And Wales bounced back from their morning defeat to end all Scottish hopes of the title. We’re back tomorrow morning for the final session of play, but can England be stopped from retaining their crown?

The Jim Baker Stadium once again hosted the Civil Service IBA over the weekend with two games against the Ireland International team. The honours were shared across the games with Ireland winning Saturday afternoon's matchup before CSIBA fought back on Sunday to gain revenge for Saturday's defeat. Another great weekend had by all and we look forward to hopefully welcoming the CSIBA again next year.
