Description
This is dog training with a difference! My name is Avril Munson and I am The Dog Calmer! A dog trainer and behaviour counsellor working with the general public, Vets, Dog Rescue’s (including Battersea Dogs Home and the RSPCA) and students of dog training instructing and behaviour for over 20 years.
I have successfully built my business into a leader in the Dog Training industry in the UK, with regular radio shows, TV appearance, residential courses, weekly classes, one on one sessions and training days.
Whatever type of session, the outcome is that all clients report a huge surge in confidence and belief that they can train their dogs, even after one session!

facebook.comCarrying on from my last post of teaching your dog what it is you do want rather than a no - saying "no" to a puppy will just give the puppy the idea that you like what he is doing as you have given him your attention for doing "it". Here is an example: Saying no for jumping up - instead of teaching a sit - the thing you do want is feet on ground! What are your favourite yes's?
When taking on a rescue dog, don't waste time dwelling on what might have happened, it is now in the past. Instead focus on training them and giving them purpose and good boundaries!

The dog you train today is not the same one you had yesterday or will be tomorrow. Train the dog that shows up not the one you were hoping for. While the dog grows and learns you will be lucky if the good dog shows up once every now and again!

About time the law targeted dog behaviour and not dog breeds!
