What a difference some blue sky and sunshine makes! What a beautiful afternoon at Walton Heath today

The beast from the east has returned and delivered fresh snow overnight. It's another snow day here as both the courses are closed today #snow #golf

A bright and breezy start to maintenance on the New Course this morning, it ALMOST feels like Spring today...!

Course maintenance week is incredibly important to ensure the quality of the courses are maintained throughout the year. This week, there will be work on the greens that will reduce organic matter (thatch), which is important to avoid issues such as poor drainage and becoming excessively soft during wet periods. Scaryifying and aeration will also take place, followed by top dressing of the greens. This will encourage improved draining and firmer greens so that when the better weather finally arrives, we can all enjoy the benefits!

Last week we had snow, this week the rain is on it's way, maybe next Friday we'll get scenes like this... We don't know about you, but we're definitely ready for spring! #golf #spring #waltonheath

For the 14th consecutive year, we are proud to be hosting the European sectional Qualifier for the U.S. Open. This year it will be held on Monday 4th June across the Old and New courses. And we're open! We spotted our assistant pro on the 1st of the New this afternoon dusting off his clubs after a week off. You can just see the last of the snow before it melts and we hopefully say goodbye to the bad weather and hello to spring...!

We all know what snow looks like now so we're trying to encourage the better weather as it's officially spring and remember what the courses should look like! It's cold and white again at Walton Heath today and the courses remain closed for now...
