The Loddon Valley Day Care Centre
Description
The Loddon Valley Day Care Centre provides respite care for over-55's in Tadley and the surrounding area. GENERAL INFORMATION
WHO ARE WE?
• The Loddon Valley Day Care Centre provides (respite) care for the over 55’s, three days a week at the Ambrose Allen Centre in Franklin Avenue, Tadley. We aim to provide a relaxed and stimulating time with a variety of daily activities. This gives time for carers to take a break and for those isolated and alone to spend time in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
OPENING
• The Day Centre is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 3pm.
• The Centre is open 48 weeks a year – closed during the Christmas/New Year period and Easter.
• Occasionally closed during bad weather or in unavoidable circumstances but all clients/volunteers will be informed of this closure in advance by telephone.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
• The Day Centre is open to all people over 55 years old living within Tadley and surrounding areas.
• The Manager (or nominated person) will meet with the prospective client and carer(s) to assess the suitability of the Day Centre for the client prior to regular attendance.
• Due to a restriction on numbers (16 clients per day) some days may not be available to all clients but we aim to accept clients on as many days as they require.
• Referral from a doctor, surgery or medical/healthcare professional is not required.
COSTS
• £21.50 per day including a two-course hot lunch.
• An invoice is issued monthly for payment, by post or by hand to the carer.
• All activities are included in the daily charge, there are no additional charges for activities.
• There is monthly raffle, a ticket costs 50p, and everyone gets a small raffle prize. Donation of small prizes are always greatly appreciated but not essential.
• If a client is unable to attend the Day Centre for any reason we ask that they contact the Manager by 10am on the day of attendance. The Day Centre reserves the right to charge a £5.00 non-attendance fee (discretionary) if the client does not attend.
STAFF
• There are 3 paid members of staff: Manager, Assistant Manager, Assistant (Kitchen/Supervisor)
• There is a ratio of at least 1 staff member/volunteer to 3 clients at all times
COLLECTION/TRANSPORT
• A door-to-door pick-up/drop-off service may be available within the immediate Tadley area. This is a limited service and dependent on volunteer drivers, if available. Please contact Beverley White should this service be required.
• If a client is unable to attend we ask that they contact Beverley at least 24 hours before so we can inform the driver(s) and Day Centre staff.
