facebook.comIn a change from the usual bodywork albums this is a few images of MOT repairs on a 1st generation Renault 5 of 1983 vintage, a number of customers have asked if I can do mechanical work as I do concentrate on the bodywork side of things, in restoration work inevitably the bodywork takes president but yes I can do all the mechanical work required and have a CO meter to tune old carb and fuel injected cars. this car was serviced by me just before Christmas with plugs, contact breakers replaced and valve clearances, ignition timing and CO level checked and adjusted, now runs nicely.
To follow on from the last album here are a few images of fitting the second hand quarter and other welding repairs, now ready for prep and paint, please take some time to look through the images to see all that was done.
Customer contacted me regarding a refinish of the car plus any welding and bodywork that would be required, on first inspection the poor condition of the paint work did not bode well for the condition of the vehicle but once on the two post lift it became clear that the car was generally in good condition, there was no alternative but to remove the body kit, it became clear at this point that the passenger side of the car had suffered accident damage and had been poorly repaired, please take some time to look through the image to see the condition of the vehicle before I start repairs in ernest.
