Desk of Ingenuity, Friction project
The Desk of Ingenuity was made by Miniature Museum, as a response to the collections and stories of 3 very different museums... National Waterways Museum, The Museum in the Park and Holst Birthplace Museum. Commissioned by Flow Contemporary Arts , Friction Project explores a crossover of contemporary art with museums and audiences. Supported thanks to Arts Council England. Film made for Miniature Museum by Sean Delahay - Film & Photography.

Our first schools project as Miniature Museum! We are working with The Grange School and Sports College, in Warmley, East Bristol, collaborating with the staff, pupils and ex-pupils to create a Miniature Museum as a memorial for the school, which is closing down this summer, July 2016. The Grange Miniature Museum is set in a double stack of 6 plan drawers, and will evoke memories and associations with sounds, film footage, objects and images from the school and its archives. The museum is a collective project, and will gather impressions from the experiences and imaginations of people who have passed through the school. Through working with The Grange School and Sports College, we are developing a model for working with other schools: - As consultants - collaborating with head, staff & pupils, enabling them to create their own miniature museums - Giving class presentations about 'What is a museum...for?', exhibiting and interactive building techniques - Delivering workshops in specific skills eg. storytelling & interpretation; making miniature LED lighting
