We have received a number of enquiries over the last couple of months relating to fines being received by vehicle owners from the DVLA for vehicles which have been left parked on the road or road verge, or in shared parking areas, with no valid road tax or declared as SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification). A SORN declaration requires a vehicle to be kept on private land, such as a driveway, or a garage. If a vehicle is left parked on the road or road verge, or in a shared parking area, without valid road tax or with a SORN declaration, the last registered keeper could be issued with a fine from the DVLA. For more information on SORN declarations, please visit the following link - https://www.gov.uk/sorn-statutory-off-road-notification If you have a vehicle which has reached the end of its life, and you wish to arrange for it to be recycled, the contact details for the relevant recycling partner for your particular vehicle manufacturer can be found on our website - https://www.cne-siar.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/end-of-life-vehicle-recycling
