After almost a decade in Australia, and being totally immersed in the Speciality Coffee Industry out there, we moved back to the UK and quickly discovered that it was more difficult to find good coffee, like the coffee we were used to in Australia. So here we are!

We are a small Speciality coffee shop. Our mission is to source the best possible speciality beans and compliment those beans with the best brewing methods. We want to create a memorable experience that is sure to excite our customers and make great coffee accessible to the local community.

Specialty coffees are coffees at their peak and different to other coffee because they have been grown at the perfect altitude, at the correct time of year, in the best soil, and then picked at just the right time. All this translates into some of the most exciting and tasty coffee in the world. And you can now have it!

We source our house beans from Sacred Grounds Coffee Company, a speciality coffee roastery located on the banks of the Brothock Burn in Arbroath, Angus. They are committed to sourcing premium green beans from ethical and sustainable sources. To Get the best from these beans they roast small batches in their 5kg Toper Roaster. Here at Shamrock and Thistle we always aim to brew this coffee to bring out the most complex and exquisite characteristics in the cup.

We also feature guest beans from the best Artisan Roasters all over the UK.

Don't worry if you prefer a cup of tea! We also serve high quality, and ethically sourced, loose-leaf tea from Eteaket. We have a selection of Black, Green and herbal teas to choose from.

Our delicious, made-to-order crepes and waffles are available in savoury and sweet and we feature new gourmet varieties each week.
We have a selection of fine pieces and homemade bakes, including gluten & dairy free options.

Just like our coffee, our food is defined by its simplicity and quality. We love the story & taste of well-crafted produce and have a genuine and natural focus on seasonal, local produce. We recognise and use the amazing produce available from around Aberdeenshire and the UK. With this focus on simple and delicious food in mind, we offer a menu that is designed to showcase the way that food can be paired with coffee and other drinks.

We aim to grow as coffee purveyors and hope to share that journey with you, while creating a venue that serves as a resource within our community.
