Piano, keyboard & theory lessons taught in a relaxed environment.
I have been a piano, keyboard, vocal & theory teacher for 18 years. Lessons are taught in a relaxed environment & a wide age range is covered. Typically students aged from 5 to 70 are taught. Beginners, intermediate & advanced students are welcome. I usually teach musicianship, sight reading, aural awareness & music theory although occasionally I am asked to teach composition by GCSE students & improvisation by jazz students. Those who know me will be aware that despite my classical training I love jazz. Students come to lessons with a variety of criteria. Some are trying to get into private schools, others are auditioning for musical theatre, music tech or performance courses either at college or university. Some are trying to achieve their brownie badges, Duke of Edinburgh awards, Music GCSE's or music gradings or, they want to perform in class concerts, bands, festivals, stage school & orchestra. My job is to help my students achieve their goals. I have diplomas in both Music & Social Care & as such I'm well versed in working with students who have disabilities & learning difficulties. I have a current DBS check & have worked in different primary schools & have had years of experience home tutoring a variety of students.
