Thank You! I am very pleased to announce that the First Phase for St Stephen’s Roof replacement was completed in November. 1 week ahead of schedule. The Chancel, Lady Chapel and Vestry Roofs are completely renewed. Our very grateful thanks go to a whole host of people. The Architect Tony Keeble from Overton Architects for his brilliant guidance and expertise. Pickles roofing Contractors Limited who carried out the roof works. The devotion of Andrew Smith the Church Treasurer and all the many people in the congregation who have been involved in any way especially giving donations and fund raising. The response of any people in the community of Steeton and Eastburn for donations and their support in fund raising events. Special thanks go to the Knit and Natter Group who have raised hundreds of pounds through the brilliant knitted St Stephen’s Road and coffee mornings and the people involved in the Film nights especially Graham Ridley who very kindly donated the proceeds of the tickets to the roof fund. We would never have been able to raise all the money ourselves and are enormously grateful to the following Trust Funds: Yorkshire Historic Trust for their grant of £2,500, Garfield Weston for the grant of £3,000 and Allchurches Trust for £1,500. A very special thank you has to be given to Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund as we acknowledge their grant of up to £57,500 and all the help and expertise that we have received from them. We now look to raising money for Phase 2 which will replace the whole of the Nave roof. So, as we begin the new year, thank you to all who have supported us in the past!

Play and Pray is every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 2-3pm in the church. We welcome all young people under school age with their carers. Activities include singing songs such as the 'Wiggle Wiggle' song and interactive bible stories. We also explore different areas of the church and talk about what we see. When the weather is good we play outside and explore the world around us. There is milk or juice for the little ones and tea, coffee and biscuits for the carers. We finish in time to collect older children from school. Play and Pray welcomes all young people under school age with their carers.
